Operated by Webheadcase LLC
Available on iOS and Android
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how BrewHop ("BrewHop," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the BrewHop mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App" or "Services"). BrewHop is a brewery and craft beer discovery platform that helps users find nearby breweries, view taproom menus, check hours, plan hop itineraries, and engage with a community of craft beer enthusiasts.
By downloading, accessing, or using the BrewHop App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, you must not use the App.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you as described in Section 11 below.
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTICE: AGE RESTRICTION — 21+ ONLY
BrewHop is intended exclusively for users who are 21 years of age or older. In accordance with applicable law and the nature of alcohol-related content provided through the App, access is strictly limited to adults of legal drinking age in the United States.
By using the BrewHop App, you affirm that you are at least 21 years of age. BrewHop does not knowingly collect, solicit, or retain personal information from any individual under the age of 21. If we become aware that data has been collected from a user under 21, we will promptly delete such data and terminate the associated account. For more information, see Section 10.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information about you in several ways depending on how you interact with the App. The categories of personal information we collect are described below.
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
When you create an account or use certain features of the App, you may provide us with the following information directly:
-
Account Registration Data: Your full name, email address, date of birth (collected for the purpose of age verification to confirm you are 21 years of age or older), and profile photo (optional).
-
User-Generated Content: Reviews, ratings, check-ins at brewery locations, saved brewery lists, tasting notes, and itineraries you create using the Hop Planner feature.
-
Customer Support Communications: Messages, inquiries, feedback, or other information you submit when contacting our support team, including the content of those communications and any attachments you provide.
-
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the App, we and our third-party service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and usage patterns, including:
-
Device Identifiers: Unique device identifier (device ID), operating system type and version, app version, mobile network information, and hardware model.
-
Usage Data: Features you access and interact with, session duration, search queries entered, pages and brewery listings viewed, and the order and frequency of your interactions with the App.
-
Log Data: Internet Protocol (IP) address, access times and dates, timestamps, error and crash reports, and referring URLs.
-
Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and equivalent mobile tracking technologies (such as software development kit identifiers) to operate and improve the App. See Section 4 for further detail.
-
1.3 Location Data
Location information is central to the core functionality of BrewHop. Specifically:
-
Precise GPS Location: With your permission, we collect your precise geographic location via your device's GPS or similar positioning technology. This information is used to display nearby breweries, calculate distances between you and brewery locations, power search results, and enable the Hop Planner itinerary feature.
-
Approximate Location: We may infer an approximate location from your IP address even if you have not granted precise location permission, for the purpose of serving regionally relevant content.
-
Collection Timing: Precise location is collected only while the App is actively in use (foreground), unless you separately enable background location access. Background location may be requested to support automatic check-in features; this permission is optional and will be requested separately with a clear explanation of its use.
-
Your Control: You may disable location access at any time through your device's operating system settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Location Services; Android: Settings → Apps → BrewHop → Permissions). Disabling location access will limit certain App features, including distance-sorted results and the Hop Planner.
-
2. How We Use Your Information
BrewHop uses the information we collect for the following purposes:
-
To Provide and Improve App Functionality: To operate the App, enable brewery discovery, power distance-based sorting of results, and support the Hop Planner itinerary feature.
-
To Verify User Age: To confirm at the time of account registration that you are at least 21 years of age, in compliance with our age restriction policy and applicable law.
-
To Personalize Your Experience: To surface recommendations based on your stated preferences, favorite beer styles, past check-in history, and browsing behavior within the App.
-
To Send Relevant Notifications: To send you push notifications about new brewery openings near you, updated tap lists, and other content you may find relevant — but only where you have provided your explicit consent to receive such communications.
-
To Process and Display User-Generated Content: To publish your reviews, ratings, and check-ins as part of the BrewHop community experience, subject to our Terms of Service.
-
To Perform Analytics and Improve Performance: To analyze usage trends, measure feature effectiveness, diagnose technical problems, and make data-driven improvements to the App.
-
To Detect Fraud and Maintain Security: To identify and prevent fraudulent activity, enforce our Terms of Service, investigate potential misuse, and maintain the integrity and security of the App and its users.
-
To Comply with Legal Obligations: To fulfill our obligations under applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful requests from governmental or regulatory authorities, and enforce our legal rights.
-
3. How We Share Your Information
BrewHop does not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the limited circumstances described below.
3.1 Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party vendors and contractors to assist in the operation of the App and delivery of our Services. These service providers may handle personal information on our behalf for purposes including hosting and cloud infrastructure, analytics, push notification delivery, payment processing, and customer support services. All service providers are bound by data processing agreements that prohibit them from using your personal information for any purpose other than providing services to BrewHop, and require them to maintain appropriate security safeguards.
3.2 Brewery Partners
When you post a public review or check in at a brewery through the App, we may share limited profile information — including your username and the content of your review or check-in — with the applicable brewery partner. This sharing is integral to the community-based nature of BrewHop and is limited to the context of your public interaction with that brewery's listing.
3.3 Other BrewHop Users
Certain profile information you choose to make public within the App — including your username, profile photo, public reviews, ratings, and cumulative check-in count — is visible to other registered BrewHop users as part of the community experience. You control the public/private status of your profile through your in-app account settings.
3.4 Business Transfers
In the event that BrewHop is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale, or similar corporate transaction, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring or successor entity as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via in-app notification or email and will inform you of any choices you may have with respect to your information.
3.5 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your personal information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; (b) respond to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal mandate; (c) protect the rights, property, or safety of BrewHop, our users, or the public; or (d) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security breaches, or technical issues.
3.6 Aggregated and De-Identified Data
We may share aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information — information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you individually — with partners, advertisers, or the public. For example, we may share insights such as popular beer styles by geographic region. This information does not constitute personal data and is not subject to the same protections as identified information.
Notice: No Sale of Personal Data
BrewHop LLC does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. This commitment applies to all users, including California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
BrewHop and its service providers use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate, secure, and improve the App. The types of technologies we use are described below.
4.1 Types of Tracking Technologies Used
-
Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that remain on your device only during your active session and are deleted when you close the App or browser. Used primarily for authentication and maintaining session state.
-
Persistent Cookies: Cookies that remain on your device across sessions for a defined period of time. Used to remember your preferences, settings, and log-in status between uses of the App.
-
Mobile Analytics SDKs: Software development kits embedded in the App that collect usage data and performance metrics on behalf of our analytics partners.
-
Device Fingerprinting: Collection of non-personally identifying device attributes (such as screen resolution, OS version, and installed fonts) to create a probabilistic identifier for fraud prevention and analytics purposes.
-
4.2 Purposes of Tracking
-
Authentication: To verify your identity and maintain your logged-in session securely.
-
Preferences: To remember your App settings and personalization choices between sessions.
-
Analytics: To understand how users interact with the App and identify opportunities for improvement.
-
Ad Attribution: To measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and understand how users discover BrewHop.
-
4.3 Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You may manage cookie and tracking preferences through the App's settings menu (Settings → Privacy → Tracking Preferences) or through your device's operating system privacy controls. Please note that disabling certain cookies or tracking technologies may impair the functionality of the App, including features that depend on persistent authentication or personalized content delivery.
5. Third-Party Services
The BrewHop App integrates with a number of third-party services to provide core and supplementary functionality. These integrations may involve the transmission of certain personal information to the applicable third-party service provider. The third-party services we currently use include, but are not limited to, the following:
Service Category Example Provider(s)Purpose
Mapping Services Google Maps Displaying brewery locations, routing, and map-based search functionality
Analytics Firebase / Google Analytics App usage analytics, event tracking, and performance measurement
Crash Reporting Firebase Crashlytics Automatic detection, logging, and reporting of app crashes and errors
Push Notifications Firebase Cloud Messaging Delivery of opt-in push notifications to iOS and Android devices
Payment Processing Stripe Secure processing of any in-app purchases or premium subscriptions
Each third-party service provider operates under its own independent privacy policy, which governs that provider's collection, use, and disclosure of your information. BrewHop encourages you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through the App. BrewHop is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security measures of any third-party service provider.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law. The following retention guidelines apply:
-
Account Data: Retained for the duration of your active account. Upon account deletion, personal account data is removed within 30 days, subject to the exceptions noted in Section 9.
-
Usage and Log Data: Retained for up to 24 months from the date of collection, after which it is deleted or de-identified. This data is used during the retention period for analytics and security purposes.
-
Location Data: Precise GPS location is used in real time to power App features and is not stored persistently on our servers, unless you explicitly save a location (such as a "Home Base" brewery or a saved Hop Planner itinerary). Saved location data is retained as part of your account data.
-
Extended Retention: Notwithstanding the above, we may retain certain categories of information for longer periods where required by applicable law (such as tax, regulatory, or compliance obligations), to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or as permitted by law.
-
7. Data Security
BrewHop takes the security of your personal information seriously and employs a range of industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
-
Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol.
-
Encryption at Rest: Personal information stored on our servers is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption algorithms.
-
Access Controls: Access to personal information is restricted to authorized BrewHop personnel and contractors on a need-to-know basis, and is governed by role-based access controls and authentication requirements.
-
Regular Security Audits: We conduct periodic security assessments and vulnerability reviews of our systems and infrastructure to identify and remediate potential risks.
Notwithstanding these measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. BrewHop cannot guarantee absolute security of your personal information, and any transmission is made at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect that your account has been compromised or that unauthorized access to your personal information has occurred, please notify us immediately at webheadcase@webheadcase.com.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information. BrewHop is committed to honoring these rights as described below.
8.1 Access and Portability
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Upon a verified request, we will provide you with a copy of your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format where technically feasible.
8.2 Correction
You have the right to request that we correct any personal information we hold about you that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You may also update certain information (such as your email address or profile photo) directly through the App's account settings.
8.3 Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information. Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete or de-identify your personal data within the timeframes described in Section 9, subject to any applicable legal retention obligations or legitimate business needs that require us to retain certain information.
8.4 Opt-Out of Marketing Communications
You may opt out of receiving marketing or promotional communications from BrewHop at any time by: (a) adjusting your notification preferences in the App's settings menu (Settings → Notifications), or (b) clicking the unsubscribe link included in any marketing email we send you. Please note that even after opting out of marketing communications, you may still receive transactional or service-related communications (such as account security alerts).
8.5 Location Permissions
You may revoke the App's access to your precise location at any time through your device's operating system settings. Revoking location permission will limit certain features of the App but will not affect your ability to use other App features.
8.6 Push Notifications
You may disable push notifications from BrewHop at any time through your device's operating system notification settings (iOS: Settings → Notifications → BrewHop; Android: Settings → Apps → BrewHop → Notifications) or through the App's in-app settings.
8.7 California Residents — California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
If you are a resident of the State of California, you have the following additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

-
Right to Delete: The right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.

We may request additional information to verify your identity before processing your request. We will not charge a fee for reasonable requests unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
9. Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your BrewHop account at any time. Account deletion is a permanent action and cannot be undone once the deletion window has passed.
9.1 How to Delete Your Account
You may request account deletion through either of the following methods:
-
In-App: Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account, and follow the confirmation prompts.
-
By Email: Send a deletion request to webheadcase@webheadcase.com from the email address associated with your account.
9.2 What Happens After Deletion
-
Your personal account data (name, email address, date of birth, profile photo, saved lists, and private activity) will be permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days of your confirmed deletion request.
-
Residual copies of your data may persist in encrypted backup systems for up to 90 days following deletion, after which all backup copies will be permanently purged.
-
Certain data may be retained beyond these periods where we are required to do so by applicable law, regulation, or to fulfill a legitimate legal obligation (such as resolving an open dispute or complying with a legal hold).
-
Public reviews, ratings, and check-ins you have contributed to the BrewHop community may be anonymized rather than fully deleted, in order to preserve the integrity of the community content record. Anonymized content will no longer be associated with your identity or account.
10. Children's Privacy and Age Restriction
BrewHop is strictly intended for individuals who are 21 years of age or older. The App facilitates discovery of and engagement with establishments that serve alcoholic beverages, and is therefore not appropriate for, and not directed at, minors of any age.
-
Age Verification at Registration: All users are required to provide their date of birth during account registration. Users who indicate they are under 21 years of age will be denied access to the App and no account will be created for them.
-
No Knowing Collection from Minors: BrewHop does not knowingly collect, solicit, process, or retain personal information from any individual under the age of 21. This commitment is more protective than the standard set by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which applies to children under 13.
-
Immediate Termination of Underage Accounts: If BrewHop discovers or is notified that an account has been created by or on behalf of a person under the age of 21, we will immediately suspend and permanently delete that account and all associated personal data without notice.
-
Parental or Guardian Contact: If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your minor child has accessed or created an account on BrewHop, or that their personal information has been collected through the App, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will take prompt action to investigate and remediate the situation.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
BrewHop reserves the right to update, modify, or replace this Privacy Policy at any time. We recognize that privacy policies can be dense and difficult to parse, and we are committed to communicating changes to you in a clear and timely manner.
-
Notice of Material Changes: For any material changes to this Policy — meaning changes that significantly affect your rights or the way we process your personal information — we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice via in-app notification and/or email sent to the address associated with your account, prior to the change taking effect.
-
Non-Material Changes: For minor or non-material changes (such as clarifications, typographical corrections, or administrative updates), we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy without providing advance notice.
-
Acceptance of Changes: Your continued use of the BrewHop App following the effective date of any updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
-
Right to Disagree: If you do not agree with any updated version of this Privacy Policy, you must stop using the App and may delete your account as described in Section 9.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed of how we are protecting your information. The most current version of this Policy will always be accessible within the App and on our website.
12. Contact Information
